Watch out!

To all of you jackasses who like to run the overtaking lane on the Saint John Thruway every night between 4 and 5:30 p.m., I'm one of the people that pulls out and holds you all up. Would you butt in at the grocery store?

No. After three months, do you forget why we're in single file?

No. See, I'm in a win-win position. I don't lose any more time, everybody else on the inside lane thinks I'm a hero, and you get to sit right behind me ranting and raving because you can't act like an ass.

By the way, when you eventually drive by me, give me the finger AND YOU'RE IN A COMPANY VEHICLE!!! well you know the rest.

- Anyone with me?

You don't own the road

To all the walkers out there who think they own the road, NEWSFLASH - you don't. You walkers share it along with drivers.

Yes drivers need to be aware of where walkers are at all times. Yes drivers will likely be to blame if there was an accident because drivers should be cognizant of what's going on around them at all times, and should be able to stop for the walker. But that doesn't give walkers the right to 'walk all over us' so to speak. It doesn't give walkers the right to step out onto the road at anytime and expect drivers to stop. This is what crosswalks are for.

In case you've forgotten, when walking down the street, cross at the corner, look both ways before you do and proceed when there aren't any cars or when someone stops for you. Don't just walk onto the road as it suits you.
