Perhaps it’s a catch-22… Recall Bernard Lord’s 1999 highway toll debacle? Or the Liberals’ 2003 insurance premium saga? Cut-throat politics, by necessity, defer to lessons hard-learned.”

Our province is burdened with too many airports? Let’s build yet another. Too many hospitals? Of course, let’s make more. Electric power rates? Let’s pretend we’re blessed with inexpensive hydroelectric power, just like Quebec, Manitoba and British Columbia.

This article (Read our lips: No new hospitals, Feb. 9) makes a lot of sense – our politicians make all these decisions without out input, and when it falls apart, then who is left picking up the tab? Taxpayers.

The way our province thinks it should be managed, is having lots of airports, lots of hospitals, etc when we do not have the finances to support these infrastructures, nor do we have the local manpower to support these businesses either.

Politicians, please think your ideas through before implementing them. Taxpayers are tired of footing the bill for your mistakes . The same applies to NB Power.

Enjoy the beauty of our province

We here in the New Brunswick are usually covered in snow during the winter months but this winter has been really quiet. It’s good if you hate the snow and stuff, but a lot of people like to ski and stuff and enjoy the snow on the ground. Some people like the snow and others hate it, but it’s the Maritimes and certainly not your typical Maritime winter here in New Brunswick. There’s still lots of time for snow, but with it being the middle of February there is still little snow on the ground.

We complain in the winter of it being snowy and then we complain in the summer of it being too hot. I love the summer and going for a drive and seeing the beauty of this fine province. You take the good, you take the bad. You’re going to see good weather in the summer and cold weather in the winter. It’s the maritimes. I am loving this winter, little snow and fewer storms.

If you are going to live here you have to expect snow, and it’s only lasting about four months. It has been a good winter.
