Erin Costelo - Fire & Fuss (Independent)
Published Thursday July 2nd, 2009

A12

The first full-length effort from Nova Scotian Erin Costelo is packed full of melodic songs that will delight those looking to chill out with some good home grown Maritime folk music. Fire & Fuss takes listeners through a fun romp through tender piano-led ballads such as The Prologue and The Birds That Wake The Day and more jazzy moments like If And When and The Day Before War. Costelo's vocals are smoky in nature (although not quite as baritone-based as Diana Krall) and fit her songs well.
Yet another Maritimer to be on the lookout for in the coming months. With this much talent, Costelo isn't bound to remain a secret for long.
