STU Fine Arts presents violinist Nadia Francavilla and guitarist Steven Peacock in a free concert of mostly 20th-century music at 12 noon on Thursday, 5 November 2009, in Room 101 (the Recital Room) in Margaret Norrine McCain Hall at St. Thomas University. The duo will present works by Albeniz, Granados, Feld, Piazzolla and Cordero.

He is not only known for his hugely successful music career, but also for his commitment to veteran causes. Cinema Politica: Fredericton screens documentaries on Fridays at 7 p.m. at Conserver House, 180 St. John St., Fredericton. Stephanie Mainville in Concert: Mainville is currently touring throughout Atlantic Canada in support of her latest album called Out of Nowhere. Mainville is an ECMA Nominee and multi-award winner who has appeared in official showcases at the Junos and 6 times at the East Coast Music Awards. Tickets for the shows are $15 and are on sale now. There will be two "Pay-as-you-wish" dinner settings (5:30pm and 8pm) while Mainville and her band serenade guests. 10% of food sales will be donated to the Fredericton Food Bank. The New Brunswick Country Showcase is a non-profit organization that features several annual performances by many of the province's best country artists. Much of the proceeds from the Showcase are donated to charities, most recently to the IWK Children's Hospital. The Fredericton Concert and Marching Band, under the direction of Heather Dunham, will be presenting a Remembrance Day Concert with special guests the Branch 4 Legion Men's Chorus (Margaret MacDonald, Director). The concert will take place at Memorial Hall on the UNB Campus, Fredericton at 3:30 pm. Freewill donations accepted.

Fredericton Monday Night Film Series 09: The series presents limited release, independent foreign and Canadian films for one-night screenings, with the goal of diversifying local access to cinema. These films are new or recent releases, which would not otherwise be available to Fredericton audiences on the big screen. The film series is open to everyone. Regular admission is $7 per screening. Memberships are available that reduce admission price to $3 per screening Tonight's Feature: BRIGHT STAR directed by Jane Campion, starring Abbie Cornish, running time 120 minutes, English.
