Celebrating Wicked Women and Their Voices: Presentations from their letters, diaries and published works for Women's History Month 2009. Thursday, 29 October 2009. 3:30 p.m. "" Tilley Hall on the UNB campus. All are welcome. Sponsored by the Department of History. Refreshments will be served.

I Tromboni: Since its formation in 1999, the musicians of this Vancouver-based quintet have been breaking down the barriers and stereotypes that have kept the trombone in the back row of the band for far too long. No more! I Tromboni incorporates music of many genres into their well-loved performances, with repertoire ranging from baroque to romantic, operatic to jazz, and popular to original compositions. Spotlight Classic Albums Live Series present Dark Side of the Moon: Back by popular demand is Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The first of the Classic Albums Live concerts to come to The Playhouse in 2006 will rock the stage once more. www.theplayhouse.nb.ca

Meet Others Forum with Dr. Craig Proulx: "What Canadians Think They Know about Aboriginal Peoples and What They Don't Know." Oct. 30, 3:30-5:00 p.m, Holy Cross on the STU campus. The Meet Others Forum has been developed to host monthly discussions, with featured guests, to reflect on questions of tolerance, otherness, celebrating diversity, and other related questions. The atmosphere is student friendly; there will be time for questions and answers following the talk. All are welcome. Refreshments will be available.

Ripples Moving Outward: John McKendy's Legacy of Love in Action: On the occasion of the first anniversary of John McKendy's passing, and visits to Fredericton of Quakers from Burundi and British Columbia, the Canadian Friends Service Committee and the African Great Lakes Initiatitve would like to invite the STU/UNB community to a Friday afternoon gathering titled "Ripples Moving Outward: John McKendy's Legacy of Love in Action" to be held on October 30 at 4:30 p.m. in room 202 of Brian Mulroney Hall. There will be several guest speakers.

Critical Mass: Critical Mass is a bike ride held the last Friday of every month (Sept 25). In Fredericton, meet at People's Park (Officer's Square) on the corner of Regent and Queen. Ride leaves at 5:30 p.m. Upcoming dates: Friday, Oct 30, Friday, Nov 27.

Fredericton Monday Night Film Series 09: The series presents limited release, independent foreign and Canadian films for one-night screenings, with the goal of diversifying local access to cinema. These films are new or recent releases, which would not otherwise be available to Fredericton audiences on the big screen. The film series is open to everyone. Regular admission is $7 per screening. Beaverbrook Art Gallery - The Beaverbrook Art Gallery presents Impressionist Masterworks from the National Gallery of Canada, an exhibition of ten masterworks, in recognition of the Gallery's 50th anniversary. Organized by the National Gallery of Canada, the exhibition will be on display from September 17 to January 4, 2010.

Gallery 78 - Gallery 78 is celebrating its 33rd anniversary with a group show: "THE EARLY YEARS". This exhibition features the work of select artists who exhibited at Gallery 78 in the early days at 78 Brunswick Street and includes well known names such as: Bruno Bobak, Molly Lamb Bobak, Marjory Donaldson, Anne Dunn, William Forrestall, Carol Fraser, Brigid Toole Grant, Pegi Nicol MacLeod, Stephen May, Dawn McCracken, David McKay, Joseph Plaskett, Stephen Scott and David Silverberg. Come help us celebrate our artists and the gallery. The show opens on Thursday, October 8th and will be on view until Sunday, November 1.
