Hybrid impressions

I've been travelling to Saint John for work over the last week and I've tried out a number of rental cars, ranging from a Mazda 6 to a Toyota Prius.

I took the Prius down to the Port City yesterday expecting major fuel savings, but I only noticed a $5 difference in the gas bill between the Mazda 6 and the Prius.

I have to say while I was kind of impressed with how quiet the Prius is when it's running of its battery, I'm not majorly impressed with its fuel economy. It's no gas guzzler, but its only moderatly better than my signficantly lower-priced Pontiac G5 SE.

I'm also not a big fan of the Prius' touch screen controls for the stereo and climate buttons.

One car I'm hoping gets made is the Chevrolet Volt. You can check out the details on the Chevy concept car here.
