The town of Shediac continues to host their 59th annual edition of the Shediac lobster Festival this week until July 6. There will be Acadian music, lobster eating contests and entertainment. Try to break up and eat three lobsters with your bare hands as fast as you can. There will be a costume parade for the kids on Sunday, a fair and exhibition tents and of course beer gardens. Moncton's 10th annual Outdoor Flea Market held at Magnetic Hill will be held from July 3 to July 6. Over 400 vendors will be participating this year. Parking is $3 for the entire day and a food court will be located on site. For more information, please visit www.magnetic-hill-flea-market.com.

The Kidney Foundation will host The 12th Annual Francois McDonald Kidney Foundation Charity Classic Softball Game at Kiwanis Park at 6:30 p.m. Players include politicians, members of our local law enforcement, the Moncton Wildcats, the Tim Hortons' All Stars, and members of the Moncton Fire Department. The Town of Riverview will be holding their annual Sunfest, today July 3 is the last day of this four-day event. Cross the bridge to check out the festivities in Caseley Park.

Starting July 5 and lasting until July 27, the town of Sackville will be hosting their annual Festival by the Marsh, south-eastern New Brunswick's summer arts festival with music, fine arts, theatre productions and literature. Theatre productions include an outdoor production of Romeo and Juliet, workshops and shows throughout the month for a variety of ages and interests. Wednesday, July 9

A Strawberry Social will be held at the Central United Church located at 150 Queen St. The general public is invited to attend from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $8 and includes sandwiches, strawberry shortcake, tea coffee and lemonade. No tickets required, just pay at the door.

The Capitol Theatre Gallery shows a variety of work throughout the year. Their next exhibit begins July 2 with an exhibit by Michel Duguay. The Galerie d'art Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen, is located at the Université of Moncton. The gallery just completed renovations. The Moncton Museum has a variety of permanent exhibits. Until July 6, see New Brunswick Quilt's, will show different techniques, styles and patterns used over the last two centuries. The Moncton Public Library hosts artists through the year during visiting hours, viewings are free. In July see three years of print making with exhibits by Maryse Arseneault beginning on July 3. They will also host until august 31 Science East's Great Maritime Achievers Exhibit, featuring 30 innovative Maritimers. The library is also accepting applications for artists who wish to exhibit. The Moncton Art Society - Hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Works are changed the second Tuesday of every month. The gallery is located near the Lotto Booth in Highfield Square.

La Galerie Sans Nom, located in the Aberdeen Cultural Centre on St. George Street. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday between noon and 5 p.m. Admission is free. Moncton's only year-round dinner theatre venue, McSweeney Co. Dinner Theatre regularly presents a musical comedy with guaranteed laughs. This Is Your Life runs May 23 through Aug. 31 at McSweeney Dinner Theatre Company at 700 Main Street. Held four nights a week Wednesday through Saturday with a monthly Sunday show, tickets are $40.25 taxes included and include a four-course dinner with a three act musical comedy. Summer Camps For Children - The Alliance Française de Moncton will be offering one-week French Summer day camps for non-francophone children ages 6 to 10 in July and August. Dates: July 7-11, July 14-18, July 21-25, July 28- Aug 1, Aug 11-15 & Aug 18-22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost: $150 per week (lunch not included). This is an excellent opportunity for your child to have fun, and learn French at the same time. This is not done in a structured classroom setting but rather through a wide variety of activities including games, field trip, and lots of other outdoors adventures. Registration deadline: June 13.
